📚 Why gently used books? 🌲

We use gently used books in good condition. So many books get thrown out in landfills (approximately 320 million per year!) and we want to help reduce this waste, especially with pre-loved books in good condition that can bring joy to someone else. Many of these books are handpicked from libraries and small bookshops, which we want to continue to support for our communities. Each handpicked book is carefully inspected twice for defects and heavy wear before becoming yours. We also clean and sanitize each book after handpicking and before packaging.

📗 What does gently used mean?

To us, "gently used" means in good condition:

  • Generally clean pages - may have pages with dogear folds, minor tears, creases, minimal writing, marks, or stamps
  • Binding is intact - may show minimal creasing and wear, but no loose pages
  • Cover is intact - may have minor creases, scuff marks, shelf wear around the edges or corners, stickers, previous labels, or dust stains

None of these minimal signs of use will interfere with the text or readability of your handpicked selection.
